VAMPIRE CRAB

GEOSESARMA DENNERLE

The typical lifespan for a vampire crab is around 2 to 3 years.

Vampire crabs are nocturnal, shy, and semi-terrestrial, spending most of their time hiding during the day and emerging at night to explore, forage, and hunt for food.

They are social but can be territorial, particularly males fighting for dominance. During molting, their new exoskeletons are soft, making them extremely vulnerable and requiring ample hiding places to protect themselves.
