They can reach a maximum size of 6 inches (15 cm).
As omnivores, their diet in the wild consists of algae, plankton, detritus, and small invertebrates like crustaceans, tunicates, sponges, worms, and even clams and corals.
The front half of the body is vibrant yellow, while the back half is a deep royal blue. They also feature a yellow tail and a blue marking above the eye.
